Visit Shirley’s 1857 Etruscan Bone and Flint Mill, 1820s beam engine and 1903 Cornish boiler at Etruria Industrial Museum. Open from 11.00am and in steam and driving the mill from 1.00pm each day. Vintage Stationary Engines on Saturday 19th September and Classic Cars and Commercial Vehicles on Sunday 20th September. Tea room, gift shop and toilets in the Visitor Centre. Artist blacksmith demonstrations in the forge and other activities around the canal junction. Attractive canal side location in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent. The site includes Shirley's Bone and Flint Mill and calcining kiln dating from 1857 and at the junction of the Trent and Mersey and Caldon Canals associated canal buildings and structures, including a blacksmiths forge orginally dating from when the canals were opened in the 1770s. There are three locks on the site including the only staircase lock in Staffordshire. Donations Welcome. Guided tours subject to availability. Limited access to the mill for those with mobility difficulties.
